Andreas has extensive experience as a moderator of high-level events, workshops and panels, featuring Heads of States and CEOs.
His background in journalism and business coaching enables him to render complex topics accessible, while adding the right touch of humour where appropriate. He has particular expertise in business and innovation topics, including the social impact of technology.

Innovation Keynotes

Andreas Kleinschmidt delivers keynotes on some of the most relevant business and innovation topics of our time, including cybersecurity, blockchain applications, robotics and the social impact of technology. Drawing on careful research and real world examples, he delivers thoughtful and lively presentations. He has a reputation as an original and engaging speaker who interacts easily with audiences.

Business Coaching

Andreas works with senior executives on challenges they face in business and beyond. These can include the transition into a new role, coping with increased responsibilities, managing relationships inside and outside the office, personal growth, as well as effective communication with the media. He was trained in London and is accredited by the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches.

Bio

Dr. Andreas Kleinschmidt moderates events, delivers keynote speeches and supports companies and public sector agencies as a coach. He is co-founder and Member of the Board of a Venture Capital seed fund.

Previously, he acted as spokesperson and worked on communications for financial transactions with a total value of US$16bn. He also spent seven years in journalism, as a print and broadcast reporter, receiving the CNN journalist award for his international work. Former employers include Siemens, JPMorgan Chase and Ogilvy & Mather, in Munich, London and New York.

While working as a journalist, he contributed to the business sections of DER SPIEGEL and Bayerischer Rundfunk. He is an active member of the Alumni networks of Allianz Cultural Foundation and ZEIT Foundation.

One of his passions is modern and classical theatre. He enjoys travelling and hiking, in particular in Patagonia and the Colombian Andes. He crossed the Alps by mountainbike – riding from Munich to Venice – and enjoys racing bike rides in Bavaria. Andreas lives in London.

Education

Andreas studied at Munich University and at the London School of Economics; his dissertation in International Political Economy analyzed the effects of national shareholder rights on cross-border M&A situations. He graduated from Journalism School in Munich. Andreas grew up in Germany but had opportunities to spend time abroad from a young age, including some schooling in France, Italy and China. He is fluent in six languages, including German, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
